STA Learn to Swim Program Singapore

Steady Swim School offers the internationally recognised STA swim program in Singapore for swim students of all ages to become safe, confident, and strong swimmers.

Developed by the Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA) based in the UK, the STA Learn to Swim Program provides participants with a progressive pathway to learn essential water safety skills and swimming techniques. The STA swim program also has specialised swimming courses for people with disabilities.

What is the STA Learn to Swim Programme?

The STA swim program is an incentive-based swimming curriculum designed to motivate young participants to improve their swimming and water safety skills through various stages of awards. There are five progressive stages of learning – as participants complete each stage, they will be awarded colourful, eye-catching certificates along with success trackers to track their progress and provide them with a sense of achievement.

At Steady Swim School, we have a team of STA-certified swimming instructors who make the learning process as fun and engaging as possible for young learners. We work closely with parents to provide updates on the progress of learners and celebrate their achievements when they reach key milestone awards.

My child’s swim coach, Siqi has been exceptional, patient, encouraging, and highly dedicated. She creates a fun yet focused learning environment where children feel supported and confident in the water. My child always looks forward to her lessons and continues to make wonderful progress. I first discovered her through a friend’s recommendation, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a skilled, nurturing, and professional swim instructor.

I have been searching for a small group swim class for my 6yo boy, and he can't be on his own when in the water. Coach Qi is the coach for his class, and I am so glad! She is so patient, lady of a few words but can interact with the kids well. Knowing that he is afraid of water, Coach Qi keeps assuring him, making sure he is safe and with much encouragement, he has improved so much as compared to previous.

My boy now has so much confidence and always looking forward to the weekly swimming class. Thank you!

Coach Ben has been an incredible swimming coach for my young children. He strikes the perfect balance between being fun and approachable, while still remaining firm and patient in his teaching style.

What we appreciate most is how he builds confidence in his students while still maintaining discipline in the pool. My children genuinely look forward to every class with him — a true testament to his ability to connect with them.

I recently completed my swimming lessons with Ben and had a wonderful experience. I started with zero freestyle knowledge, and now I’m able to swim properly with confidence. Ben is patient, encouraging, and very clear in his explanations. His guidance helped me unlearn bad habits and develop proper technique. Highly recommend Ben if you’re looking for a friendly and supportive instructor!
