Steady Swim School offers the SSI Swimming Instructor program for adults and students (aged 18 and above) looking for a career as a swimming teacher. The SSI Swimming Instructor course is recognised by private swim schools and is a stepping stone towards obtaining NROC-accreditation under Sport Singapore. The SSI Swimming Teacher course can be completed quickly – we can help you achieve certification within one week.

After completing the Swim Teacher Level 1 course, you will be able to conduct kids swimming classes at condo and private residence pools. You will also have the opportunity to join Steady Swim School as a swimming coach to kickstart your new career – we provide swimming lessons all across Singapore and are looking for passionate swim instructors to join our growing team.

SSI Swim Instructor Course Details

The SSI Swim Instructor course is conducted within a full day of training, scheduled each month. In addition to the full-day training session, participants must also attend 8 attachment classes to practice teaching students under the supervision of our swim instructors. Attachment classes will be arranged based on availability.

In this program, you will learn teaching techniques for swimming strokes, lesson plan development, water safety and rescue skills, and how to independently train and certify swimmers of all ages. The SSI Swim Teacher course also covers the requirement for CPR-AED certification for conducting swimming lessons.

Our SSI Swimming Instructor course levels include:

SSI Swim Teacher Level 1 certification – to conduct swim programs from Aquatike I to Beginner III.
SSI Swim Teacher Level 2 certification – to conduct swim programs from Intermediate I to Swim Team Prep.
SSI Swim Teacher Adult certification – to conduct adult swimming programs.

Duration: 9am – 6pm (including a 2-hour lunch break)

Location: Temasek Polytechnic

Cost: $800 ($600 for students aged 18 or older)
