Types of Swimming Lessons for Babies & Toddlers
Baby & Infant Swim Classes
Our infant swim lessons are for babies aged 6 months to 1 year old. In a safe and supportive environment, our qualified swim coaches teach infants the basics of water play and the development of essential skills, like floating, kicking, and using their arms and legs in the water. Steady Swim School’s infant swim classes help parents and babies feel confident in the water, setting the groundwork for future swimming classes.
Group Toddler Swimming Lessons
Steady Swim School’s group toddler swimming lessons begin at age two and go up to 10 years old. To enhance toddlers’ learning and skills effectively and safely, we group students by swimming ability stage: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Our instructors focus on teaching proper form, basic swimming strokes, and water safety skills, with the goal of helping each child progress to the next level and build confidence in the water.

Client Testimonials

My boy now has so much confidence and always looking forward to the weekly swimming class. Thank you!

What we appreciate most is how he builds confidence in his students while still maintaining discipline in the pool. My children genuinely look forward to every class with him — a true testament to his ability to connect with them.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
When should my baby start learning to swim?
You can start swimming lessons as early as 6 months old. Our initial goal is to make the baby/toddler feel comfortable in the water, to then work on fine motor skills and develop more swimming techniques as they grow. In a safe environment, teaching a 6 month old to swim will set the path to become a confident swimmer.
02
Why choose Steady Swim School?
Because we’re as passionate about keeping your children safe as you are! We believe that learning to swim should be the right of all children in Singapore – and for many, starting as early as infancy can set a strong foundation of swimming and a love of being in the water.
03
Private lessons vs. group lessons – which is better?
Private lessons may be preferred for children and parents with a busy school or work schedule. Private lessons mean that our instructors can meet you and your child at a location (public or private pool) at a time that suits you. Group lessons take place at predetermined times and locations and are less expensive than private lessons.
Some children may feel more comfortable learning to swim in a private setting, while others may enjoy the social aspect of group lessons – it’s completely up to you. Our flexible private and group swimming classes mean that you can choose an option that suits your lifestyle and your budget. When it comes to comparing group swimming lessons vs. private swimming lessons there is no “right” answer – it comes down to the needs of the child and the parents.
04
Why should my baby/infant start swimming lessons?
Starting your baby or toddler in swimming lessons offers a host of benefits. Swimming can help babies to build muscle in the arms and legs, strengthen their lungs and heart, and train the coordination between brain and muscle memory.
While it may seem daunting starting your baby in swimming lessons, it will actually keep your baby safe in the future by improving their water safety knowledge and swimming strokes. Putting your infant in early education swimming lessons will lay the groundwork to become proficient in swimming – a useful skill they’ll have forever.
