Benefits of Learning to Swim
Build your confidence
Our swimming lessons in Singapore provide a structured, safe, and supportive environment for toddlers, teens, and adults to learn to swim at their own pace. With each lesson, students build confidence in their ability and feel more confident in and around water. Our goal as swimming instructors is to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters personal progression and transforms fear into confidence to create a lifelong life affair with the water.
Learn water safety fundamentals
For toddlers, children, and even adults, learning the fundamentals of water safety is one of the most important lessons that we teach in our swimming classes. Learn the basics about how to stay safe in the water, how to recognise dangers, and how to stay calm and respond to emergency situations while enjoying water activities.
Improve cardiovascular health
Swimming is a full body exercise that works your entire body and cardiovascular system. As you swim, your heart and lungs become stronger and more efficient at transporting oxygen around your body to your muscles. For children, teens, and adults, building cardiovascular fitness is one of the most effective ways to improve overall fitness and promote long-term heart health.
Build muscle strength
Swimming is one of the most effective cardio activities for building and maintaining both upper and lower body muscle. Propelling through water works the back, triceps, legs, and abdomen to build muscle while maintaining low impact on the joints. The longer and more efficiently that you swim, the more muscle you will build. Swimming is an ideal way for young ones to build muscle and adults to maintain muscle.
Low impact activity
Swimming is a low impact, full body workout that effectively builds muscle, boosts cardiovascular capacity, and mitigates wear and tear on bones and joints. As we age, it’s important to find fitness activities that build fitness and strength, while also minimising the impact that it has on our bodies. For adults with a history or injury from running or team sports, swimming is the perfect antidote for maintaining fitness while reducing the impact on the body.
Develop motor skills
Swimming helps to build and develop fine motor skills for students of all ages. In younger students, swimming lessons help to build new connections with the brain and promote sensory play that helps children to use their arms and legs in new ways while developing both fine and gross motor skills. Children who take up swimming from an early age tend to develop both fine and gross motor skills at an accelerated rate when compared to peers who do not participate in swimming lessons.
Improved cognitive function
Learning to swim isn’t just great for physical health. Swimming classes for kids and adults can help to boost mental performance. As we swim, the body naturally produces a compound known as brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) that helps to repair brain cells and develop new ones. Swimming participants benefit from improved memory function, cognitive function, immune response, and enhanced overall mental health.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is your cancellation policy for swimming classes?
We allow cancellations an hour before the lesson; within the hour, however, we will charge a $20 transportation fee as your swimming coach will have already been on the way. We encourage any cancellations to notify us 24 hours prior to the class. We can always arrange a makeup class at another preferred time slot for private swim classes.
What are your swimming lessons fees?
Our Singapore swimming lesson fees range from $40 to $85 per class, depending on the length of the classes and the package you select. We hold 30-minute (for toddlers only), 45-minute, and 60-minute swim classes – each with a different price package. For example, our 45-minute classes are $75 per class; however, they can be purchased as a 3-pack for $120, which works out to $40 a class. For more information about our prices, see our lesson fees page.
When are payments due?
Payments are due at the end of every month to pay in advance for the next month’s lessons. Our swim school offers monthly (4 sessions per month), termly (12 sessions over 14 weeks), and group packages (4 group classes per month). Regardless of your package, we take class fees at the end of the month.
At what age should I start my child in swimming lessons?
While it’s widely accepted that children who start swimming lessons at four years old can get the most out of the lessons, it’s never too early to start your child in swimming lessons – children will learn invaluable skills during swimming classes, regardless of their age. Determining what age your child should start swimming lessons will vary from child to child. Consider their maturity level and readiness to learn.
We offer swimming classes for babies as young as 6 months and for toddlers (1 to 3 years old) to build confidence in the water, develop motor skills, and learn swimming techniques. Our swim coaches ensure classes are age-appropriate and cater lessons to the child’s abilities.
